'WARRIOR' . 38" x 41" . 2018 . Acrylic on Canvas . SOLD
One dark and gloomy day in the studio, I dragged out a large sheet of loose canvas, stretched it out onto my 4 x 8 rolling table. Applying Golden High Flow Acrylics and Special Inks and in, precise, single movements with large masonry tools, stretched the paint across the canvas. This was a little (LOT) nerve wracking as I knew I only had one shot at that moment. I didn’t know how the individual paints that I’d selected would get along with each other. This is all part of the creative process.
I had 4 shots at this. It worked out pretty well.
As the paint was still wet, I went into the painting and hand applied hundreds of small effects which further accentuated the power of this painting and finished with my usual intuitive line work. I was thrilled with the results!
